Project Capabilities at L & A

Scoping, planning and controlling the project process are key functions of our project management method. Our petrochemical and water treatment client base requires a schedule intensive operation that draws on project portfolio management systems to support the engineering and manufacturing services. The project engineering service offered complements this management process, providing clients with a single point contact for the development of their product and secures ownership of their project within L&A’s portfoli.

Each job regardless of size is assigned a project engineer on receipt of an order; their role links the needs of the product with L&A’s processes and operations. The project ownership encouraged by this method is designed to ensure standard practices as well as project specific requirements are recognised and included in the planning, management, design, procurement, manufacture and delivery of ordered equipment.

The two tier project management / project engineering structure adopted by L&A delivers opportunity to manage our projects across the shared resource pool while also providing detailed support for  the technical and quality functions. Applying management effort across these two levels provides opportunity to monitor both  operational and product related performance. Through close collaboration the two project control levels capture and support the objectives of ISO9001’s continual improvement strategy by delivering an integrated mechanism that progressively mitigates project problems in the future. Lessons from project and quality events are then feed back into our upper management systems offering transparency of this knowledge across the organisation.

The objective of LAP’s continual improvement process is to be able to offer our clients a complete project management service, from planning to delivery, drawing on the strength of our experiences. Our goal is to not only deliver quality equipment but to achieve this with a positive project experience for both the client and our staff.
